Eric Skates is a seasoned professional in the mortgage industry with over 20 years of experience. His journey in the mortgage business began right after high school when he started working for a real estate law firm, focusing on post-closing tasks. In 2007, he obtained his real estate license and discovered a deep passion for marketing. However, due to the real estate market crash, Eric transitioned into the non-profit industry, where he honed his skills in marketing and communications. After six years, he returned to the real estate industry, working his way up to the position of VP of Marketing at a national mortgage company based in Atlanta, GA. After eight successful years, he joined Success Mortgage Partners (SMP) in February 2023 as EVP of Marketing, drawn to the company’s story and culture.

Eric finds fulfillment in his role at SMP by making a difference and utilizing his creative abilities. Outside work, he enjoys various hobbies, including hiking, traveling, and spending quality time with his family. Eric has been married to Laura for 15 years, and together they have three children named Mauldin (14), Elle (13), and Willa (6). They bring joy and happiness to his personal life.
